Ramallah, April 4, 2024: The head of the Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC), Mu’ayyad Shaa’ban, declared that the Israeli occupation authorities and colonists carried out 1242 attacks during April 2024.
He pointed out that the occupation forces carried out 895 attacks, while the colonizers carried out 347 attacks. These attacks, which were perpetrated in the West Bank, have been accompanied by the barbaric war on Gaza and the emergency laws that grant the Israeli occupation full the guarantees to carry out more crimes.
Shaa’ban pointed out in the Commission’s monthly report on “violations of the Israeli occupation and colonizers in the occupied Palestine” that these violations were concentrated in Nablus Governorate, which witnessed 202 attacks, followed by Hebron Governorate, which witnessed 188 attacks, and Ramallah Governorate where 186 attacks were recorded.
347 attacks were carried out by colonizers in April 2024:
Mr. Shaa’ban pointed out that the number of attacks that were carried out by colonizers was 347 attacks. These barbaric attacks caused the martyrdom of five citizens in the villages of Al-Mughayyir and Biteen in Ramallah Governorate, and the villages of Aqraba and Al-Sawiya in Nablus Governorate. These attacks were concentrated in Nablus Governorate which witnessed 118 attacks, followed by Ramallah Governorate which witnessed 83 attacks, while 34 attacks were recorded in Hebron.
Mr. Shaa’ban added that the month of April set a record high in terms of the colonizers’ terrorism attacks which were carried out under the full protection of the Israeli forces. That is, the extremist colonizers stormed 36 Palestinian villages on April 21 and 22, as well as they perpetrated terrible acts causing the burning of citizens’ homes, the thing which threatened lives of those citizens especially in the villages of Al-Mughayyir, Qusra, and Duma. Consequently, 36 houses were completely burned and 33 were exposed to partially burning. In addition, 57 vehicles were either completely or partially damaged.
Mr. Shaa’ban stressed that these colonial attacks demonstrates the extent of the powers granted to Israeli colonizers by the Israeli official institution. He also confirmed the Israeli cabinet issued its instructions for the colonizers to carry out these attacks, and provided them with full protection by the Israeli Army during the implementation of these attacks. This implies the fact that the occupying state stands behind the so called “Hilltop youth militias” and the Tag price”. This is also considered another challenge announced by the occupying state to all organizations in the world that have condemned terrorism and imposed sanctions on it.
The Occupation State Seized 172 Dunums under the Pretext of declaring them as “State Land”
Mr. Sha’ban pointed out that the Israel occupation authorities seized a total of 172 dunums in April belonging to the At-Ta’amrah Town’s citizens east of the Bethlehem Governorate, and declared them as State Lands. He added that the occupation state, through this confiscation, is working on expanding the boundaries of the Sidi Bar colony, which was established on citizens’ lands in the Al-Uqban area in At-Ta’amrah Town.
19 Colonial Master Plans were studied in April
He also pointed out that the planning authorities in the occupation state studied 19 master plans in favor of the West Bank and Jerusalem colonies. They approved 7 plans, 5 of which were in Jerusalem, while the rest were for the Kfar Etzion in the Bethlehem Governorate, and Al-Kana in the Salfit Governorate. Meanwhile, they deposited 12 other plans, 5 of which were in Jerusalem and 7 in the West Bank governorates. The plans for the month of April aim to build 2288 new colonial units that target 3036 dunums of privately owned citizens’ lands. Mr. Sha’ban added that the occupation authorities tendered for the construction of 1047 residential units in the Lower Canal colony between the neighborhoods of Beit Safafa and Sur Baher within Jerusalem. The occupation aims to strangle the Palestinian presence in the holy city through this colony that was approved earlier this year.
Moreover, in April, the fascist extremist Minister of Finance in the occupation government, Bezalel Smotrich, declared officially the legalization of 5 colonial outposts according to the occupation’s designation out of 10 they wanted to settle the status of, converting them into official colonies eligible for financial allocations for their development and basic network services including water, electricity, roads, and security.
28 Demolition Operations Targeting 33 Facilities, and 18 Demolition Notifications Issued to Citizens
Mr. Sha’ban stated that the occupation authorities carried out 28 demolitions in April that affected 33 facilities, including 8 inhabited houses, 3 uninhabited houses, 5 agricultural facilities, and others. These demolitions were concentrated in the governorates of Jerusalem, Tulkarm, Jericho, and Hebron. Additionally, the occupation authorities issued a total of 18 demolition notifications for Palestinian facilities, these were focused in the governorates of Ramallah, Salfit, and Hebron.
