Friday, June 13, 2025 – The Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission stated this morning that Israeli occupation forces have intensified their collective punishment campaign by sealing off most checkpoints and gates across the occupied Palestinian territories. Minister Mu’ayyad Sha’ban confirmed that reports from all governorates indicate a closure of most village, town, and city entrances in an unmistakable escalation in Israel’s policy of collective punishment against Palestinian civilians.
Mr. Sha’ban emphasized that this system of lockdowns constitutes a blatant assault on the fundamental rights of Palestinians, especially the right to freedom of movement and access to medical care. He added that what’s happening now is part of a long-standing chain of repressive practices employed by the occupying power: shutting down roads to Palestinians while leaving them wide open for colonizers, deepening the layers of apartheid and state-sanctioned segregation.
He further revealed that nearly all checkpoints, gates, and deliberate blockades, totaling 898 in all forms, were closed to Palestinians this morning. Among them are 224 new barriers that were either installed or reconfigured after October 7, marking a new peak in the regime of terror that Palestinians endure: denial of movement, isolation, and the normalization of treating the land’s rightful owners as subjects of punishment whenever Israel feels threatened.
Mr. Sha’ban also warned of orchestrated plans by the Israeli official institution, where closures of Palestinian areas increasingly coincide with colonizer militias being unleashed to carry out attacks, arson, and raids against Palestinians, their homes, and their land, just as seen in previous waves of lockdowns that colonizers exploited to commit atrocities.
Mr. Sha’ban called on the Palestinian people to remain vigilant in the face of these colonizer militia attacks that are carried out under the protection and coordination of the Israeli occupation army. He urged the activation of community protection committees and the unified mobilization of all national frameworks, popular and official, to defend Palestinian lives and safeguard our national resources.
