Ramallah 25-5-2023 Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh discussed, today, Thursday, in Ramallah, with a staff from the CWRC, headed by the head of the Commission, Mr Muayad Shaaban, ways to advance popular resistance and strengthen the steadfastness of citizens in the areas targeted by the occupation and its settlers.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the measures taken by the occupation and its settlers on the ground, through demolition, deportation, confiscation, Judaization, expansion of settlement areas, are attempts to reoccupy the West Bank and reconfigure settlement in various forms.
He stressed that the work carried out by the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission is a national priority in the first degree, and the government will remain supportive of its work and needs and strengthen the steadfastness of citizens, calling for the need to expand popular participation in popular resistance and its tools.
For his part, Shaaban confirmed the increase in the frequency of attacks by the occupation and its settlers in the targeted areas and Bedouin communities, indicating that there have been 500 notices of demolition since the beginning of this year, and 376 Palestinian buildings have been demolished, 22% of them in Jerusalem, noting that the occupation authorities have doubled the funds allocated for monitoring Building in Area C, targeting hundreds of communities to displace their residents, in addition to multiplying settlement projects and confiscating lands.
