Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission: the Israeli occupation confiscates 3492 dunums of citizens’ lands from Nablus Governorate
Ramallah: The Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission issued a press release condemning the Israeli occupation authorities’ announcement of the confiscation of 3,492 dunums of citizens’ lands in the village of Aqraba, southeast of Nablus, under the pretext of being “state lands”. The head of CWRC, Moayad Shaaban, said that the lands targeted by the military order are located in Basin No. 13 of Jabal Al-Qurain site, and Basin 14 of Jabal Al-Mastra, and Talat Umrah site of Jabal Al-Qurain from the lands of Aqraba village.
The Israeli occupation authorities aim, through this type of announcement, to include citizens’ lands in the growing colonial project in the Palestinian land and to ban citizens from entering these lands under the pretext that they have become “state lands”, which is part of a large scheme aimed at controlling the eastern slopes of the West Bank, specifically those adjacent to the Jordan Valley and its surrounding by controlling vast areas in this region.
The Commission said that the Israeli occupation authorities, since the beginning of 2022, issued three announcements requiring the conversion of citizens’ lands into “state lands”, and citizens are prohibited from accessing them, and thus cultivating, using and reclaiming these lands. The declared land area as “state lands”, including this announcement, amounted to a total of 3918 dunums from the beginning of this year until the moment.
The Commission urged the Palestinian citizens who own lands targeted by the military order to go to its offices in order to complete legal files as soon as possible in order to nullify the occupation order.
